TAKANEZAWA ROCKSIDE MARKET CHRISTMAS MARCHE

There was a festival called ROCKSIDE MARKET in Takanezawa, next to my hometown. It is called "rockside marcket" because a typical kind of rocks are excavated in Tochigi prefecture, where my hometown is located, and they are used to build a station in Takanezawa. I love the festival because I can see a lot of creative craftsmen and of course, eat tasty food.

栃木県高根沢町の宝積寺駅で行われたロックサイドマーケット。

定期的に行われていて毎回お客さんの数が増えていると実感するほど栃木では認知度の高いイベントです。

あまり混んでいるところが好きではない私が行きたいなと思うのは

田舎のマルシェならではの雰囲気と作家さんたちの作品をたくさん見られるという楽しみがあるから。

見上げると広い空が広がっていて、深呼吸をするとすっきりした気分になれる田舎がやっぱり好きなのだなと改めて気づかされました。

All stores hung this beautiful Christmas wreath. That made the atmosphere better and I enjoyed looking around how they displayed it.

今回はクリスマスマルシェのため、かわいいリースがあちらこちらに。

リースたちがマルシェの雰囲気をよりよくしているのだと感じました。

There were so many stores at the market and I couldn't look around all of them so I will introduce two shops where I got food and drinks.

こんなにもお店がたくさん。

混んでいてよく見られないところもあったのでそのうちの二つのお店を紹介します。

Iris BREAD & COFFEE

If you follow me on the Instagram, you may have heard of this store. The café is located in Kuroiso, north part of Tochigi, and I have been there quite a lot of times.

何度かInstagramで紹介していますが黒磯にあるIris COFFEE & BREAD。

会場内は様々なお店の料理の香り。

その中でコーヒーのいい香りを漂わせているのがこのお店。

My parents and I got cups of Rwandan coffee. They were very flavorful and we enjoyed drinking them with doughnuts which were also sold at this store.

家族そろってルワンダをチョイス。

そこで売っていたドーナッツと一緒に楽しんでいただきました。

ARIGATO

I found a shop which were selling Okonomiyaki, Japanese savory pancake. I had wanted to eat it so I got one for my lunch. It contained plenty of cabbage and cheese. Okonomiyaki is "festival food" for me so I don't eat often but I loved the idea of putting cheese in it.

普段は食べないお好み焼きもその日は食べたい気分で。

中にいももちやチーズが入っていて食感も面白くおいしかった。

シャキシャキとしたキャベツがアクセント。

たまにはお好み焼きもいいなあなんて。

I had a very good time eating, listening to live music, and looking around unique shops. I was glad that a lot of people visited such countryside and enjoyed the festival.

子供もたくさんいて大賑わい。

こんな田舎にこんなにたくさんの人が訪れてくれるなんてなんだかうれしい。

認知度の低い栃木でもたくさん素敵な場面があることを

こういったイベントを通して知ってもらえたらな。
