My first trip to Montreal
This summer I went to Montreal to study English and French and stayed for a month. I loved the atmosphere, also I was very impressed with the bilingual environment; most things are written in both English and French, and also cashiers could speak both of them. I enjoyed every single day studying and going sightseeing. Here are some memories from my stay in Montreal.

I went to a language school in Montreal. I learned a lot of things and enjoyed everyday classes there, but I was always looking forward to walking around the city after school.
Le Petit Dep

One of the stores I found nice was a shop called Le Petit Dep. When I first visited there, I got this beautiful twist icecream because it was a very hot day. The red one was cassis and the white one was vanilla, it was so delicious that I decided to visit there again. The store sells not only icecream and coffee but also they have varieties of cute products such as candles and chocolate bars. Actually, when I went there as second time, I got a black raspberry and vanilla flavored soy candle, which was my favorite candle I've ever gotten.

MELK Bar à Café

I set a goal to finish reading a book written in English during my stay in Montreal, so after school I tried to read as many pages as possible. I found quite a lot of coffee shops but the best one where I could read the book with tasty coffee and pastries was a café called MELK Bar à Café. This café was located near my school, so I visited there so many times after school.
Farmers' Market

I loved to go to farmers' market in Montreal. I enjoyed looking around fresh fruit and vegetables which I had not seen in Japan. I went to Marché Atwater after school to get ingredients for my lunch. There is also famous farmers' market called Marché Jean-Talon where I went with my host family.

Baking

As you may know, I love baking. When I went to the farmers' market and found fresh berries, I thought I should bake something using them for my host family. Then I decided to bake crumble cakes. They weren't perfect for me but my family members told me that they were good, so I would say it was a success.

How was this post? I hope you enjoyed reading and feeling that you want to visit Montreal. I fell in love with Montreal, so I would definitely visit there again someday.
Have a wonderful day,
Yuriko
