Beautiful dessert dinner with my friend at JANICE WONG

You may know the name, Janice Wong, who is a very famous Singaporean pastry chef. She is not only a chef but also an artist, so all of her desserts are so well-designed, stylish, and very artistic.
I had wanted to try her desserts for a long time and finally, last Sunday, I was able to go to her second shop which is located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. There were several courses there and we chose seven dessert dished with six non alcohol pairing drinks.
アートもデセールも好きな私にとってずっと行ってみたかったジャニス・ウォン。
やっと行くことができました。
7皿のデセールとノンアルコールのペアリングのコースを友人と共に。
そのうちのいくつか、写真と作品内容を紹介します。

"Green & Green Autumn" including green apple, basil, Greek yoghurt, Yuzu orange, sea asparagus, and Shiso leaves.
「グリーン&グリーン オータム」
青リンゴ・バジル・ギリシャヨーグルト・柚子・大葉・シーアスパラガス

"Smoky fig" including figs, blueberries, violet, red wine, ricotta cheese, and vanilla.
「スモーキーフィグ」
イチジク・ブルーベリー・すみれ・赤ワイン・リコッタチーズ・バニラ

"Wild forest" including mushrooms, rice, halloumi cheese, burdock, and bacon.

マッシュルーム・米・ハルミチーズ・ごぼう・昆布・ベーコン

"Nenrin chestnut" including Japanese chestnut, pears, salted caramel, chocolate, and whisky.

和栗・洋梨・塩キャラメル・チョコレート・ウィスキー
I was surprised by the taste and the texture of each desserts and enjoyed them talking with my friend. I learned that it is very important to think about how to make one plate attractive. There were some pastry chefs there and I realized that they were using a dish as if a piece of white paper and were trying to paint it beautifully. There were so many things to learn not only the desserts but also the atmosphere, services and so on. I would like to visit there again someday..
一つ一つの作品に驚かされ、楽しませてもらえた、そんな印象です。
焼き菓子など、持ち運べるお菓子は作る私ですがデセールのように
「作ってすぐに消えてしまうアート」はとても魅力的で心が動かされました。
メニューは季節ごとに異なるのでまたいつか来られたらいいな…
